Dr. Semvua I. Mzighani graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology and Applied Microbiology. He holds MSc and a Ph.D (Molecular Ecology) from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Mzighani is currently working as a Senior Research Officer at Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, he is working with TAFIRI from March, 2003. He is also Director of Research Development and Coordination at TAFIRI. He has done extensive and intensive research for over 15 years on fisheries biology, aquaculture and biodiversity conservation in the fresh and marine waters. He has undertaken more than 20 local and international projects and consultancies. He has attended different short courses, conferences, seminars and workshops on fisheries biology, environmental management, and information technology.
